Peer Review
Our peer review services are unsurpassed in terms of depth of experience, breadth of expertise, and commitment of staff to facilitating comprehensive, impartial review of research proposals. Drawing upon the staff and experience of our parent organization, the American Institute of Biological Sciences, we provide a full range of peer review services, focusing on the biomedical, environmental, and life sciences.
We manage the peer review process from beginning to end, developing the request for proposals (RFP) and application template, receiving proposals and tracking them throughout the review process, working collaboratively with funding agencies to develop review criteria, planning all logistics for a successful review, and providing the client with high-quality review results (summary statements) in a timely fashion. While peer reviews are primarily accomplished through face-to-face meetings of reviewers, when requested SciCentric also conducts mail reviews (in conjunction with teleconferences, when needed) of proposals and annual reports for ongoing projects.
We will utilize AIBS’ proprietary database of over 10,000 researchers offering a range of scientific expertise to satisfy the needs of any review. SciCentric peer review panel meetings are conducted in full compliance with agency/client regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act. We also strive for well-balanced demographic representation on all panels. For confidentiality purposes, review meetings are closed to the public, and no individually attributable reviewer remarks are ever made public or leave the control of SciCentric.
